In Ruins
In these ruins lies a man
broken, torn asunder no one will ever understand
deep within these stern rock walls
a soft spot lies, when struck all crumbles
once a shattered world, now a paradise lost
the love once there will be regained at any cost.
water streams down crevices until worn dry
listen closely these ruins do cry
a blade stuck deep into the stone
its almost as if these walls are flesh and bone
dying inside, but still built strong
if created different would the foundation hold?
into a pit, a void there grows
no life is found its shallow, rigid and cold
dark is the light, a flicker unknown
a spark to reignite, the beat b
